Don Olson

Don Olson 1963 – 2013

There are few people that I have met in my life that I aspire to be like. My friend & 310 Running coach, Don Olson is one of them.

Sadly, Don passed away on April 18th.

I am so happy that Don was part of my life & the lives of our athletes.

He was a skilled coach, an incredible athlete, a wonderful role model & a great photographer.

Don was the most generous person I have ever met. There was nothing that he wouldn’t do for you……all you had to do was ask. When we talked about launching 310 Running, Don was the first to volunteer as a coach.

His coaching experience & knowledge was a huge asset to the club & helped guide our athletes to some outstanding results.

As an athlete himself, Don was a fixture at Ironman Florida. Incredibly, he completed his last Ironman this past November despite his cancer. When he wasn’t competing, Don would jump in his car & drive to Florida or Hershey or wherever to cheer on others.

He was also an avid photographer & loved to capture our athletes in action. In fact, most of the picture on this website were taken by Don.

While I have only good things to say about Don, he did have one small flaw. Don was incapable of selecting the right size of running shorts for himself. Those of you who ran with him know what I mean;)

I love you Don & I miss you.
