Falconi Brothers Jingle Bell Rock

Adorn in full Santa suits complete with beards, 310 Running’s Matthew & Nicholas Falconi took on the Santa Jingle 5K race held on December 12 in Burlington.
9 year old Nicholas Falconi won the gold medal in the boys 10 & under age category with an outstanding time of 23:15 while his 8 year old brother Matthew Falconi scored the bronze in the same category with a solid 25:16. Overall the boys finished 86th & 162nd respectively out of over 2,000 total competitors.
In addition to the Falconi brothers, 310 Running newcomer Nick Rapallo & coach Katie Brown also donned the big red suits to finish their 2009 racing seasons. Nick ran the race in a time of 28:52 landing him 35th in the mens 35-39 age group & Katie finished the race in 23:14 placing 9th in the womens 25-29 division.

310 Running Wraps Up XC Season

310 Running started it’s inaugural cross country season at the Ken Lake Classic Invitational Cross Country Meet at LaSalle Park in Burlington on September 27. In the Mite girls division Addyson Proulx took 7th place. Shortly thereafter, her brother, Karson Proulx matched her result with a 7th place finish in the Tyke boys race. Nicole Skimming finished 12th in the Atom girls race.
At the Brantford Cross Country Meet held at Mohawk Park in Brantford on October 3, the club managed to secure it’s first podium finish. Nicole Skimming won silver in the Atom girls race. Addyson & Karson Proulx improved to 6th place in their respective races. The rest of team ran strong races & finished as follows: Matthew Falconi 5th  for Mite boys, Nicholas Falconi 9th for Tyke boys, Krista Gislason 16th for Atom girls & Dyan Proulx 14th for Atom boys.
At the Brampton Cross Country Meet held at Brampton Rugby Park on October 17, 310 Running tasted it’s first team success with Karson Proulx (7th), Davis Stambolich (8th), Nicholas Falconi (11th) & Matthew Reynolds (23rd) racing their way into a team silver in the Tyke boys event. Matthew Falconi just missed the podium with a close 4th place finish in the Mite boys race. The balance of the team again gave it their all with Nicole Skimming finishing in 11th, Addyson Proulx in 13th, Trisha Bryant in 14th, Joshua D’Eri in 25th, Alyssa Pejkovic in 32nd & Alysha Bryant in 41st in their respective divisions.
The final Minor Track race of the year was the MTA Provincial Championships held in Burlington at LaSalle Park on October 24. The Tyke boys team of Karson Proulx (16th), Davis Stambolich (20th), Nicholas Falconi (27th) & Matthew Reynolds (37th) placed 4th in the team event just missing the bronze by 8 points. In the Mite division, Addyson Proulx finished in 16th for the girls & Matthew Falconi landed in 11th for the boys while the lone Atom athlete, Dylan Proulx finished in 40th place.

Falconi Dazzles In Niagara Falls 5K

One day after competing for 310 Running at the MTA Provincial Cross Country Championship race in Burlington, local 9 year old running sensation Nicholas Falconi took on the Niagara Falls 5K.
Nicholas finished the race in 22:28 landing him in an outstanding 17th place out of 307 runners. He placed 4th in a very fast 15 & under age category only a few seconds behind athletes 6 years older than him.

Takashige Inada Sets PB in Half Marathon

310 Running’s first international athlete,  Takashige Inada of Japan completed a half marathon near Osaka on Sunday October 18th in a personal best time of 1:48:55.
Inada san & coach Scott Skimming met in Japan back in July & discovered that they both had a passion for marathoning.
Coach Skimming agreed to train Inada san & the pair have been communicating by email for the last 10 weeks preparing the Japanese runner for the Aaino Tuchiyama Marathon to be held on November 1st.

Bryant Sisters Strike Double Gold

310 Running’s Alysha & Trisha Bryant brought home double gold at the Upper Grand District School Board cross country meet at Island Lake Conservation Area in Orangeville on Sept 30, 2009.
9 year old Trisha convincingly won the tyke division, coming first out of 102 runners for Mono Amaranth Public School.
Shortly thereafter, 11 year old Alysha repeated the feat by dominating the Atom division placing first out of 101 runners.

310 Running’s Young Guns Capture Team Silver

One of the most coveted prizes in running is the team title. It is a testament to the strength & depth of a team. Typically, the times or positions of the top finishers for each team is combined to determine the winning team.
In the team competition at the Kinetico Caledon 5K race held September 20, the fastest four athletes from 310 Running captured a silver medal.
Top spot went to the Mayfield Boys high school cross country team with a combined average time of 21:38. Team members were Locke Davenport-Huyer, Scott Foley, Cole Sibbald & Luke Koolman.
Incredibly, second place, with a combined average time of 22:03 went to 310 Running.
What made the result so remarkable were the ages of the four top athletes that made up this team. They were Nicole Skimming, aged 12, with a time of 21:33, Karson Proulx, aged 9, with a time of 21:49, Nicholas Falconi, aged 9, with a time of 22:19 & Shelby Deibert, aged 15, with a time of 22:31.

310 Running Debuts its Athletes at Caledon Race

After a successful summer of training, the athletes from 310 Running were finally given a chance to test themselves at the Kinetico Running Festival on September 20.
The team members, ranging in age from 5 to adult, spent the summer working with the coaches from 310 Running on their fitness, running form, pace & endurance.
Of the 38 athletes that competed, 12 participated in the one mile race, 25 participated in the 5K & 1 participated in the 10 mile race.
The competitors that ran in the one mile race were Leah Barlow, Andrea Dodig, Brady Dyson, Emma Dyson, Jessica Eckel-Foster, Sierra Eckel-Foster, Matthew Falconi, Christina Nobrega, Ben Okazawa, Alyssa Pejkovic, Addyson Proulx & Daniel Reynolds.
The 25 athletes that chose to compete in the longer 5K race were Evan Barlow, Alyssa Bernardi, Laura Bernardi, Elyse Chan, Harrison Dance, Shelby Deibert, Mikaela Dodig, Nicole Dyson, Nicholas Falconi, Carlo Foster, Krista Gislason, Alana Gnida, Alessia Limotta, Jacob Okazawa, Ken Okazawa, Amanda Petrie, Dylan Proulx, Karson Proulx, Tina Proulx, Victoria Ramos, Craig Reynolds, Matthew Reynolds, Nicole Skimming, Alex Trkulja & Dee Trkulja.
310 Running’s lone 10 miler was Katie Brown.
As expected, the team had a very strong showing with 8 podium finishes.
In the boys 15 & under category, Karson Proulx, 9, won the bronze medal. Nicholas Falconi, 9, just missed the podium with a 4th place finish in this age group.
Nicole Skimming, 12, took the gold & Shelby Deibert, 15, earned a bronze medal in the girls 15 & under category. Mikaela Dodig, 11, came close with 4th place finish.
In the mens 35 – 39 age group, coach Craig Reynolds took the gold while in the womens 40 – 44 category Elyse Chan won silver & Dee Trkulja secured the bronze.
Katie Brown won a gold in the womens 25 – 29 age group for the 10 mile race.

5 Peaks Trail Race – Albion Hills

Three athletes from 310 Running decided to test their legs at the 5 Peaks Trail Race held at Albion Hills on August 8.
Nicole Skimming & Krista Gislason posted outstanding results racing in the 5.5K Sport event. Both athletes made the podium with Nicole placing 1st & Krista placing 3rd in the female 14 & under age group. The girls, both 12 years old, placed 7th & 14th respectively out of 138 female runners of all ages.
Katie Brown, who is training with the club for a fall marathon, participated in the longer 12.8K Enduro event. Katie also had an exceptional race placing 5th in a very competitive female 20 – 29 age group.
